Kentucky Bourbon Balls

These little delicacies are a must-have Southern confection. They go perfectly with a cup of strong coffee for a quick pick-me-up, or as a sweet treat on Kentucky Derby day. They’re easy to make and have a unique, spicy flavor that would be perfect for any holiday celebration.

Ingredients:
2 c ground vanilla wafers
1/2 c ground pecans
1/2 c powdered sugar
1 T light karo syrup
2 T bourbon whiskey
Separately, 1/2  c  powdered sugar in a small shallow dish

  1. Mix the first 5 ingredients thoroughly and chill for an hour or two.
  2. Roll chilled dough into small balls, then roll in the powdered sugar to coat.
  3. Serve, and enjoy!

Bourbon Balls can be stored air-tight for about a week.  Improve presentation by rolling them in fresh powdered sugar before serving.
