Now, I know that some people don’t think of coffee as a source for a recipe, but it is, most definitely! Everyone probably has their own method for making “the best” coffee (unless you drink tea!) and if you are at all like me you’ve memorized that recipe/method so that now you simply go through the motions and make your coffee the same way every morning (or afternoon, or evening, or night!).
Coffee Milk is a slight variation on coffee, sort of a chilled latte. You combine milk and coffee essence in your own proportions, and it makes quite a delicious coffee drink. Experiment with different amounts of milk and ‘essence’ or use a mix of milk, 1/2 & 1/2, and cream for your own unique signature drink. It’s all good, really — easy to prepare, fast, and a great snack or pick-me-up for the late afternoon doldrums.
For each serving:
1/4 c coffee essence
2 c whole milk
- Start by adding the amount of essence you want. This amount varies by the size of your glass and how strong you like your coffee. Just remember, coffee essence is STRONG!
- Pour in the milk (or 1/2 & 1/2, or cream, or a mix of all three) and stir. You will figure out the right proportions when you taste it — use the amounts given as a guideline.
- That’s it! Go enjoy your Coffee Milk! Consider using a straw, just for the fun of it!
